AN ICON REBORN - BLEU DE CHANEL PARFUM
Whether or not you're using Bleu de Chanel yourself, you're most likely familiar with the scent. I mean... by this point, it's already an icon!
and if you're not familiar with the scent, where have you been?
But wait... what if I told you, you're favorite icon can be even better... stronger, deeper, more masculine and sophisticated than ever!
I'm obviously talking about the most anticipated launch of the year: "Bleu De Chanel Parfum". For my full opinion and all the important deets keep on scrolling!
A quick review for those of you that aren't familiar with the iconic perfume:
Bleu de Chanel is an enigmatic and mystifying, yet inviting perfume that was created in 2010 by the House of Chanel -- the first perfume for him since "Allure Homme Sport". It's eau de parfum version hit the market in 2014 and instantly became a best seller!
The perfume itself is an elegant mixture of grapefruit, peppermint, cedar and vetiver, with a precise hint of amber and incense accords that convey strength and sophistication. What made this perfume an instant best seller internationally, was its versatility: you can use it for work, gym, or nights out, and it will always feel perfect and suitable to the occasion.
The uncharted territory of Parfum:
Although women’s fragrance creation has interpreted a wide range of subtleties, men are rarely exposed to more concentrations. In the wake of Bleu de Chanel Eau de Toilette, formulated in 2010 by Jacques Polge, and Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum (2014), Bleu de Chanel now journeys into the uncharted territory of parfum: a stronger, more concentrated formula, that is built to last longer by adjusting and intensifying the proportions of the key ingredients; in this case wood and citrus.
Top Notes: Lemon Zest, Bergamot, Mint, Artemisia.
Middle Notes: Lavender, Geranium, Green notes, Pineapple.
Base Notes: Cedar,Sandalwood, Iso E Super, Amberwood, Tonka beans.
The ingredients are slightly different and richer than its previous versions, but some of the original notes were kept. In the Parfum version pineapple has replaced grapefruit, tonka beans and amberwood come instead of musk, lemon zest instead of patchuli and the base notes are more woody, warm and masculine.
Personal experience: As I was spraying the perfume on my skin I immediately recognized the olfactory and beloved core of the very first fragrance but the intensity of the ingredients went beyond my expectations! The refreshing citrus notes that complement the warm and woody accords, alongside the beautiful and earthy lavender seem richer and denser in a way, but are still very well balanced!
Longevity wise: Bleu de Chanel versions are always my top pick when I want the perfume to be present for longer. They all last more than 8 hours on my skin, but I would definitely say that this one is more pronounced and out there. Chapeau!
Overall Impression of Bleu De Chanel - Parfum:
Definitely Impressed! It feels like you get more of everything! More warmth, more kick, and more sophistication.
Bleu de Chanel Parfum has given me exactly what I was promised and even manged to surprise me with how well balanced the formula is.
Looking at the notes I was sure that it would be over-powering and sweet, but it's not at all!
For me Bleu De Chanel Parfum portrays the allure of elegance, it has charisma and it's undeniably sexy! I'm definitely rating this one as one of my favorites launches of 2018!
